Major Employer Shutters, Reichard Offers Assistance with Unemployment Benefits

WAYNESBORO – In light of Corelle Brands announcing it is closing, laying off hundreds of workers, Rep. Chad Reichard (R-Franklin) said his office is prepared to assist workers with obtaining unemployment benefits and encourages residents to take advantage of state resources to find new jobs.

“The closing of the Corelle Brands facility in Greencastle is detrimental to hundreds of people here in Franklin County and will have far-reaching impacts. My heart goes out to the workers and their families,” Reichard said. “It is my hope that a business will see the strong workforce and the potential we have in our area and quickly fill the void.”

The Franklin County office of Pennsylvania CareerLink, located at 600 Norland Ave. in Chambersburg, offers a wealth of resources to assist residents with job training, education, job search assistance and more. The office can be reached at 717-264-4584.

As displaced workers navigate the process to receive unemployment benefits, Reichard said his office stands ready assist workers with obtaining unemployment benefits in a timely manner once they’ve filed the initial paperwork with the Department of Labor and Industry.
